TASERCON

  • TASERCON TRAINING

Electric combatives – A new approach to training, including case studies and empirical data from Norway

This course explores the integration of TASER energy weapons into a best-practice approach to combatives. We aim to demonstrate—both practically and empirically—that the TASER 10 with next-gen cartridges is a superior alternative to firearms in most scenarios. While hardware will continue to evolve (though it is already well-suited for the training we propose), the real challenge lies in shifting the prevailing culture that prioritizes firearms over non-lethal alternatives.

Without building the necessary trust in TASER energy weapons, the transition away from firearms will not be successful. Through realistic, scalable, and principle-based combatives training, we seek to establish that trust. This session offers a unique perspective on TASER energy weapon integration, featuring a theoretical overview of our training approach and a practical demonstration showcasing key arguments for why the TASER 10 may be a more effective option than a firearm in combative situations.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

AI as a force multiplier in public safety wellness

This session will be conducted by Alli Connect Founder & CEO, Colleen Hilton, who spent >20 years as a mental health professional working with Public Safety. Colleen will present on how innovation, data, and technology can be leveraged to build best in class mental health programs.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

    Law enforcement tactical disengagement

Responding to calls for service involving suicidal or mentally ill subjects can be complex and volatile. When law enforcement efforts to assist the person in crisis become fatal due to the application of deadly force, public trust can be quickly eroded resulting in negative headlines, significant payouts and/or criminal charges for the involved officers.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

    Use of force tracking program

Use of Force reports are frequently seen as a time consuming exercise to mitigate liability for the agency. This is because the reports provide precious little feedback that officers can use to improve their training and policies to ensure better outcomes. In this presentation we're going to see how small changes to the form, along with automated data analysis, can turn what was previously a chore into a treasure trove of insights that drive better training. Along the way we'll also see how this focus on officer training sets the path to better manage expensive failure to train lawsuits.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

From insights to impact: Transforming force programs with data

Law enforcement agencies face growing challenges in accountability, officer safety, and public trust. This session explores how data-driven insights can reshape use-of-force (UoF) programs, driving better de-escalation outcomes, reducing injuries, and strengthening community relationships.

Three agency representatives and a use-of-force expert will share how they are leveraging data—not just to track incidents, but to understand the ‘why’ behind them, shifting the focus from individual actions to systemic insights. The discussion will address the limitations of outdated data collection, the evolving role of analytics, and how agencies can move beyond traditional reporting to proactively shape training, policy, and performance. By putting data at the center of force management, agencies can move past reactive approaches and unlock new possibilities for improving outcomes.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

Protecting our law enforcement officers: Will to win – will to live

Due to the unceasing violence against our police officers and the overwhelming stress of serving in law enforcement today, officer safety remains at the forefront of law enforcement agencies across the nation. As we continue to lose officers to these threats, many in law enforcement are left searching for methods to keep officers safe. “Will to Win-Will to Live” is a discussion outlining resources available from the FBI’s CJIS Division that can help protect officers, so that they can make it home safely at the end of each shift.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

This session will also include a discussion ot the most significant factors contributing to officer domination when under a surprise attack and/or ambush.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

Tactical decision-making: Balancing training, science, and reality

Police officers are judged by legal and public standards that often fail to consider the realities of human performance in high-stress, time-compressed environments. This session bridges the gap between tactics and science, reinforcing how honest accountability in use-of-force investigations must align with the constitutional standard of reasonableness—not perfection. Attendees will explore how fast, intuitive, and experience-driven decision-making—governs police actions during critical incidents and why slow, deliberate analysis is rarely an option in real-world encounters. Using research and operational case studies, this session will examine how officers’ tactical decisions align with the Constitutional standard of reasonableness.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

  • TASERCON TRAINING

    1 degree of leadership

Waters boils at 212°; at 211° it simmers. As leaders we must learn to level up our leadership every minute of every day and be a rolling boil for our teams. We have micro moments every day where we have an opportunity, not an obligation, to be significant. Success is simmering and accomplishing the day-to-day tasks. Significant Leadership is that 1° where officer health and wellness begin. 1° of Leadership is when a leader has considered their own health and wellness and someone who is preemptive in the performance of their opportunity as a leader.

This training module will begin with a short recap of the creation of the newly formed police department the instructor was hired to lead; and seven months later an officer was ambushed and murdered. The module will bridge discussing the preemptive leadership that occurred prior to the incident and those failures to be preemptive on my part. It will transition to focus on police leadership and management concepts (as listed below) that directly impact a leader’s ability to care for themselves and build a culture of compassion, conviction and care.

We will discuss theories of sound agency management by focusing on the culture and climate we as leaders create, allow or cultivate. The one-hour block of instruction will be interactive with the goal of engaging the audience. It is intended for leaders who want to level up their leadership to better today than they were yesterday; for themselves and their teams.

The silent epidemic: Responding to a police suicide

Each year more officers die by suicide than by any other cause of officer death. Many times these suicide deaths can be tied back to the stresses and trauma of the job. When a suicide occurs in a law enforcement agency, most are unsure on how to support the families and the officers. Should they should provide honors to the fallen officer?

How does the agency navigate the public message about the death and most know they need to take steps to prevent further contagion suicide, but don't necessarily know what to do. This class will tackle the hard topics surrounding police suicide, giving the attendees tools they may need if tragedy strikes their agency.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

I'm fine, how are you: Learning the language of wellness

In a profession built on the “suck it up” mentality, where "I'm fine" is the autopilot answer to any wellness question, mental health often gets filed under "someone else’s problem." But what if "I'm fine" wasn’t just the reflexive armor we wear but a genuine check-in point? This presentation tackles the habit of brushing off stress in law enforcement by introducing the stress continuum model as a tool to evaluate and communicate our true mental states.

We’ll explore how to adapt the stress continuum model as a practical language of wellness, starting with self-assessment for the individual officer and moving toward meaningful conversations in peer support and supervisory roles. Instead of stoically persevering through “fine,” we’ll break down the spectrum of mental states—from "thriving" to "genuinely not okay"—to replace the classic autopilot response.

Attendees will leave with a toolbox of effective ways to recognize their own and others' stress levels, create space for real conversation, and apply this language to foster healthier interactions within teams. This session is a match for anyone in law enforcement who’s tired of pretending "fine" is fine and is ready to laugh (just a little) at our own expense while diving into serious strategies for resilience, real talk, and ditching the old "suck it up" script.

  • TASERCON TRAINING

Cutting edge strategies to unlock peak physical performance in each career phase

In law enforcement, every second, every breath, and every heartbeat counts. One second too late? The suspect is gone. One breath too short? Your body gives out. One more heartbeat lost to peak stress on the job? It could be your last. The impact of physical health and strength in law enforcement is irrefutable, and because of that, taking steps to optimize it in each career phase is mission-critical. Even more importantly, it is a fundamental part of protecting law enforcement officer safety, quality of life, and longevity.

This dynamic session will address top needs and proven success strategies for each career phase sequentially. Specifically, it will pave the way for agency members of each rank to systematically reduce muscular tension, tightness, and pain, then increase muscular strength, cardio capacity, and neuromuscular efficiency, then integrate elements of both tactical athletic training and cognitive performance training needed for peak performance. Hidden traps and common success blockers will be uncovered, and strategies to overcome them will be shared.

Attendees will walk away with actionable steps, ready-to-use templates, and free turnkey resources ready for immediate use. Law enforcement officers deserve the very best, and this engaging session will equip and empower you with today’s most innovative, practical, science-based strategies to personally achieve peak physical performance, then uplift those around you to do the same.

Training the mind for performance and well-being

What happens to your cognitive functioning and subsequent decision making under stress and pressure? And what happens to our brains over a law enforcement career if stress and trauma go unprocessed? Stress is not the enemy. Rather, a dysregulated nervous system profoundly affects the mind and body. How do we work with, not against, the inevitable stress and trauma that are part of our shared human experience and, specifically, over the course of a law enforcement career? This brief, yet interactive, didactic and skill building training module offers a neuroscience-backed introduction to mindfulness-based strategies for enhancing self-awareness, emotional regulation and cultivating compassion as they relate to law enforcement leadership, personal well-being and creating and sustaining healthy organizations.
