Workplace violence against healthcare workers has reached a breaking point. Nearly 76% of nurses experience workplace violence in a given year (Texas 2024; U.S. hospital studies), and the crisis is costing U.S. hospitals $18.27 billion annually (AHA “Burden of Violence,” UW HIPRC).

Yet the human cost may be even greater, as 23.1% of affected nurses are considering leaving the profession entirely (Texas 2024), deepening a workforce crisis health systems can’t afford to ignore.
