This document is meant to provide guidance and technical assistance to agencies/departments with developing policies and procedures regarding the use of TASER energy weapons, including the TASER 10.

Designed to complement the TASER Energy Weapon Policy Playbook, Lexipol’s policy guidance covers a range of topics, from the proper use of force to training requirements and reporting procedures.

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the world’s largest and most influential professional association for police leaders, also published an update to its policy guidance on Electronic Control Weapons. The IACP Law Enforcement Policy Center provides guidance to law enforcement agencies, offering resources like model policies and background information to aid in policy development.
