Axon named among selected providers for NSPA Counter-UAS framework contracts

Dedrone's open, multi-sensor fusion platform gives operators a common operational picture of the lower airspace.

The NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) has announced several framework contracts for Counter-Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS), with Axon named among the selected providers.

As drone activity continues to increase around military installations, critical infrastructure, and national borders, NATO nations require counter-UAS capabilities that can be deployed quickly and integrated with existing security investments. Being selected for an NSPA framework contract means that NATO member nations and eligible partner countries can procure Dedrone through a pre-qualified procurement vehicle rather than conducting a full supplier qualification process themselves. This can help simplify and accelerate acquisition while giving nations confidence in the procurement process.

Detect first, then decide

Drone defence is often pictured as the moment a threat is stopped. In practice, the harder work happens earlier: knowing what is in the airspace, where it is heading, and whether it is authorised to be there. Dedrone is built around a detect, track, identify, and mitigate (DTIM) approach, so security teams have the facts they need before choosing how to respond.

More than detection: an open platform for multi-sensor fusion

Dedrone is Axon's airspace security and C-UAS solution. At its centre is Dedrone's command-and-control software, an open-architecture platform that fuses supported RF, radar, video and acoustic sensor data, together with other supported sources such as Remote ID and ADS-B, into one operational picture in real time.

Through supported interfaces, Dedrone can also integrate compatible third-party sensors and existing security systems, including cameras and other detection technologies already in place. Organisations build on what they have rather than start again. By correlating information from multiple supported sensor types, Dedrone helps overcome the limitations of relying on a single detection technology, giving operators a more complete understanding of activity in the lower airspace.

Designed to adapt as airspace threats evolve

The open-platform approach pays off in three ways:

Scalability: add supported sensors, sites and use cases as requirements grow, without reworking the underlying architecture.

• Future-readiness: bring in new supported sensor technologies as they become relevant, instead of starting again.

• Investment protection: keep compatible existing security infrastructure working alongside Dedrone rather than replacing it.

By consolidating supported data sources in real time, DedroneTracker.AI gives operators one comprehensive view of the lower airspace, accessible from a browser wherever authorised users are working.

This approach is already field-proven. Dedrone protects more than 1,130 sites worldwide and is used by defence organisations, government agencies, critical infrastructure operators, airports and organisers of major public events to build a real-time picture of the airspace they are responsible for.

Protecting the NATO airspace

Axon is proud to be among the selected providers announced by NSPA and to make Dedrone's open, multi-sensor fusion approach to airspace security available through the framework contracts.

The selection reinforces Axon's commitment to open, scalable technology that helps organisations understand and secure the airspace above them while building on existing investments.
