Alpha and Beta Features

Axon constantly strives to deliver innovative features that meet your evolving needs. To bring you new features as early as possible, we occasionally release features in Alpha or Beta stages.

In our release notes, features may be labeled as "Alpha" or "Beta." This labeling indicates these items are early-stage features that may become available in the future. Your insights are crucial in helping shape and improve these features over time.

What are Alpha features?

Alpha features are early-stage features still in the active development phase. Released to a limited audience, Alpha features give select users the opportunity to preview new ideas and concepts. By using Alpha features, you can help identify potential improvements, convey user needs, and test foundational elements of a feature.

Why Alpha?

We release features in Alpha to gather early insights and refine the core functionality based on real-world usage. Alpha feedback validates initial ideas, identifies issues, and helps us understand how the feature performs in different environments. Because these features are still being developed, they may change or even be discontinued based on feedback.

What to expect from Alpha features

  • Experimental features: May have limited functionality and may not be fully polished.
  • Potential changes: May undergo substantial changes, adjustments, or optimizations.
  • Limited availability: Typically available to a small group of users who can provide detailed feedback. Not every organization will be a suitable match for participation in every Alpha feature.

If you would like to participate in an Alpha feature, contact your Axon representative. Your feedback is essential to shaping how these features evolve.

What are Beta features?

Beta features are more evolved than Alpha, but still being refined and improved based on user feedback. Released to a broader audience than Alpha, Beta features let all customers experiment with the latest innovations early and provide feedback.

Why Beta?

While Axon is committed to making Beta features the best they can be, not every feature will be a perfect fit right away. If a feature doesn't meet expectations, we'll revisit and refine it, or maybe even retire it. Our goal is to deliver tools that truly work for you. With your feedback, we can ensure these features meet your needs and expectations ahead of general release.

What to expect from Beta features

  • Enhanced functionality: Beta features are fully functional and ready for you to explore and use in real-world scenarios.
  • Feedback-driven: While close to their final version, your input can bring ongoing improvements.

If you're using a Beta feature, share your feedback with your Axon representative. Whether it's a suggestion for improvement or an issue you've encountered, your input helps us make these features the best they can be.
