TASER 10 settings

The following settings can be found on the TASER 10 page:

  • LASER
    • Determines if an Armed TASER 10 uses a laser to identify approximate impact location of the probe. When set to “Motion Control”, the laser automatically turns on when sudden movement from a "low ready" (e.g. "sul position") to an aiming position is detected while Armed. Once the Laser is on, it shall remain so until the weapon returns to a "low ready" position or the weapon powers off. "Low ready" is defined as 90 +/- 30 degrees downward from a level plane. Aiming position is defined as 0 degrees +/- 30 degrees from a level plane.
  • Flashlight
    • Determines if TASER 10 provides a forward facing illumination.
  • Warning Alert Flashlight Strobe
    • Determines if a TASER 10's flashlight will strobe during the Warning Alert.
  • Side Lights
    • Determines if TASER 10 communicates weapon information to other officers and public using lights on the sides of the device. Lights are colored red for error, yellow for armed with a live duty magazine, and blue for armed with a HALT, inert or live training magazine.
  • Sounds
    • Determines if TASER 10 provides audible feedback and alerts to officer during operation. This does not affect the Warning Alert.
  • Stealth
    • Determines if users can place their device into stealth mode.
  • Default Inventory Status
    • Determines if Axon Evidence automatically sets the status of cartridges to In-Stock when cartridges are first registered. When disabled, the status of cartridges is set to None. Axon recommends enabling this setting only if your agency manually updates the Status of every cartridge.
  • Automatic Shut-Down
    • When set to Hard Stop, TASER 10 automatically shuts-down electrical discharge after 5 seconds, regardless of the trigger or switch position.
    • When set to Switch Override, the weapon continues electrical discharge after 5 seconds, as long as the switch is held up.
    • When set to Disabled, the weapon continues electrical discharge after 5 seconds, as long as the switch is held up or the trigger is held in the pull position.
  • Cartridge Deployment in Function Test Mode
    • Determines if TASER 10 automatically exits Function Test Mode and deploys a cartridge when the trigger is pulled. When disabled, a trigger pull in Function Test Mode will have no impact on the device's behavior and will be logged as "Trigger Rejected". When disabled, to manually exit Function Test Mode, shift the selector switch down (SAFE) and then up (ARMED) to power off the TASER, exit Function Test Mode, and power on in Weapons Mode. This setting can only be disabled in FW versions 1.7.23 and above.

  • Wireless Communication
    • When disabled, all wireless broadcasts from the weapon are turned off — including Axon Signal transmissions. This setting overrides any configurations on the Axon Signal configuration page. This setting can only be disabled in Firmware version 1.7.0 and above.

  • Axon Signal Compatibility Mode
    • Axon Signal Compatibility Mode enables the weapon to use both Legacy Signal and Secure Signal to activate cameras. This is intended for agencies whose cameras do not all support Secure Signal. Legacy Signal is the default protocol for activating cameras over BLE. Secure Signal is the next-gen encrypted protocol that prevents remote detection. This setting can only be enabled in Firmware version 1.7.0 and above.

TASER 7 settings

The following settings can be found on the TASER 7 page:

  • LASER
    • The TASER 7 uses two lasers to identify approximate impact location of the top and bottom cartridge probes. Options include both LASERs solid, top LASER solid, bottom LASER blinking, and LASERs off.
  • Flashlight Power
    • Options include High, Low, or Off.
  • Dim Flashlight While Arcing
    • When enabled, the flashlight will dim when the user hits the Arc switch to perform a Warning Arc. This setting can only be enabled in firmware versions 1.10.4 and above
  • Tilt Select
    • The Tilt Select feature allows users to switch the active bay that will be deployed when the trigger is pulled. If this feature is activated, the user will see the active cartridge underlined on the CID of the device. A quick sideways tilt of the device will change bays. Note that this is an intentional motion that uses the device’s accelerometer to determine if the TASER has been tilted >45 degrees and returned to upright in under one second. Further details on this motion and a video demonstrating the capability can be found by searching “Tilt Select” on my.axon.com. This feature will be available starting with Firmware version 1.6 (May 2020).
    • If both Close-Quarters and Stand-Off cartridges are inserted in the TASER, the lasers will automatically change to represent the angle of the cartridge in the active bay. If “Enabled – Training Only” is selected, the user may only take advantage of this feature when Inert or HALT cartridges are inserted. This particular setting lets users test the feature to see if they would like to activate it for live cartridges in the field.
  • Cartridge Deployment in Function Test Mode
    • Determines if TASER 7 automatically exits Function Test Mode and deploys a cartridge when the trigger is pulled. When disabled, a trigger pull in Function Test Mode will have no impact on the device's behavior and will be logged as "Trigger Rejected". When disabled, to manually exit Function Test Mode, shift the safety switch down (SAFE) and then up (ARMED) to power off the TASER, exit Function Test Mode, and power on in Weapons Mode. Note: this setting can only be disabled in FW versions 1.9.0 and above.
  • Wireless Communication Controls
    • TASER 7 wireless communication. TASER 7 uses wireless broadcasts to activate nearby cameras (Axon Signal) or communicate handle information to nearby Docks (Chirp). Signal and Chirp are disabled when wireless communication is disabled. VR cartridges override this setting.
  • Automatic Shut-Down
    • When set to Hard Stop, the weapon automatically shuts-down electrical discharge after 5 seconds, regardless of if the trigger or arc switch is being held down. When set to Arc Switch Override, the weapon continues electrical discharge after 5 seconds, as long as the arc switch is being held down. When set to Disabled, the weapon continues electrical discharge after 5 seconds, as long as the trigger and/or arc switch is being held down.

TASER 7 CQ settings

The following settings can be found on the TASER 7 CQ page:

  • LASER
    • The TASER 7 CQ uses a single LASER to identify approximate impact location of the top and bottom cartridge probes.
  • Flashlight Power
    • Options include High, Low, or Off.
  • Dim Flashlight While Arcing
    • When enabled, the flashlight will dim when the user hits the Arc switch to perform a Warning Arc. This setting can only be enabled in firmware versions 1.10.4 and above.
