Clean and disinfect Axon Interview rooms
Cleaning and disinfecting are two separate steps. Cleaning removes dirt, grease, dust, and other contaminants. Disinfecting uses chemicals to destroy bacteria and pathogens. Both steps are recommended for routine maintenance of Axon Interview room equipment.
Each agency should develop and follow its own policies for how frequently to clean and disinfect interview room equipment.
Power down the device and unplug it from any electrical outlet before cleaning or disinfecting, if possible. Do not get liquids inside the unit. Never spray cleaning products directly onto equipment — apply to a cloth or use pre-dampened wipes.
Clean the equipment
- Power down the device and unplug it from any electrical outlet, if possible.
- Select a non-abrasive cloth or wipe to avoid scratching surfaces.
- Dampen the cloth with an approved cleaning product, or use pre-dampened wipes. Squeeze out any excess moisture before wiping.
- Wipe all exterior surfaces.
- Allow the surfaces to dry completely before use.
Avoid highly concentrated alcohol (greater than 70%), non-diluted bleach, or ammonia solutions. These may cause discoloration or damage to surfaces.
