AviSynth

AVISynth is a video processing tool that helps Axon Investigate handle and play certain video formats. It acts as a translator between complex video files and your local computer, ensuring smooth playback—even when special codecs are required.

Some video formats rely on additional local codecs to play correctly in Axon Investigate. AviSynth works in the background to help process these files, allowing you to do the following:

  • Play complex video formats smoothly
  • Apply automatic fixes for playback issues
  • Maintain original video files (no modifications)

If you’re using Axon Investigate for video review and analysis, installing AviSynth ensures compatibility with a wide range of video formats.

Note

AVISynth is not required for Axon Region Discovery. If you are reviewing videos ONLY on Axon Region Discovery, you do not need to install AVISynth.
