Storage limitation solutions

With Axon VR continuously growing and offering more content, managing your headset's storage has become increasingly important. If you download all available content, you will find that your headset storage is running out of space. This article offers storage limitation solutions to help you maximize your device's storage and choose the option that best fits your agency's needs.

Use a micro SD card (Recommended)

You can insert a micro SD card into the headset to expand your storage, allowing you to keep downloadable Community Engagement Training (CET) content on the micro SD card.

If you choose this option, we recommend using a micro SD card with at least 128 GB. For more information, see Using a micro SD card.

Delete and swap out content

If you're unable to purchase a micro SD card, you can manage your storage by deleting and re-downloading content as needed. For example, if your headset is running low on storage and new CET modules are released, you can delete older modules to make room for the new ones. You can use this same approach for Virtual Reality-Based Training Live Action.

Use dedicated devices for content

Note

This option is meant for agencies that have multiple headsets.

If you have multiple headsets, you can assign each device to different downloadable content. For example, if you have three headsets, you can organize content as follows:

  • Use headset 1 for Simulator Training.
  • Use headset 2 for Community Engagement Training.
  • Use headset 3 for Virtual Reality-Based Training.

By distributing content out across multiple devices, you can avoid the need to delete and re-download content frequently.

Labeling each headset with its assigned content can help streamline device management. You can use the device stickers for this purpose. For more information, see Stickers for headset.
