AI search & detection

Use AI-powered tools to detect people, vehicles, and objects in historical footage and generate clips for review.

Note: Some AI features require specific hardware (e.g., AI Core) and user permissions. If you don’t see a feature such as Sentry rules or search filters, contact your administrator to verify your access.

Run AI searches

Search recorded video for specific people, vehicles, or objects using AI tools.

  1. In the navbar, select Dynamic AI.
  2. Select Event or Detection.
  3. Choose a detection type (e.g., person, vehicle, object). Some options open additional filters, such as car color, make, and body type.
  4. Select More Filters (funnel) and then select Start time and End time. The search results are displayed.

Export detection results

Save AI detection clips for evidence, reporting, or incident use.

  1. After running an AI search, review the result cards and select an individual detection or select multiple items.
  2. Select the Actions (⋮) button on that card and then select:
    • Add to Vault - Select a case number and then choose Select. Or select Create new case, enter the relevant details, and then select Save.
    • Share in Chat - Select a channel and then choose Select.

Manage sentry rules

Sentries are virtual monitoring agents. Unlike historical search, they work in real time to detect matching events and trigger alerts. Active Sentries appear in the toolbar under the Sentry tab and can be viewed or managed from there.

  1. On the Map, use the Draw Circle or Draw Polygon tool to select an area.
  2. If the area includes AI-enabled cameras, the Options menu appears.
  3. In the Options menu, select the Search tab.
  4. Select AI: Create Sentry.
  5. In the Create Sentry dialog:
    1. Select the object type (e.g., person, vehicle).
    2. Add visual filters (e.g., clothing color, size).
    3. Set a schedule (e.g., days, hours of activity).
    4. For pop-up alert notifications, select the trigger an alert when a match is found box.
    5. select Set Notification Schedule to specify when you do not want to be notified by the sentry.
    6. Configure alert delivery options, including email notifications.
  6. Select Save to activate the Sentry.
