Chat & collaboration
Use chat tools to communicate with team members, share video and images, and create collaborative channels.
Open the chat panel
The chat structure is consistent across types: you can view history, share attachments, and create new threads, depending on your permissions.
- In the top toolbar, select Chat.
- You can choose between:
- Teams – View messages within your assigned team’s channel. Teams are typically organized by call sign and allow quick group communication within an agency.
- Channels – Group conversations with multiple users.
- Direct Messages – One-on-one private chats.
- Shared Channels – Inter-agency group chats.
Send a message
- In Chat, select a channel or direct message thread.
- Type your message and press Enter.
- (Optional) Select Attach (paperclip) to include:
- A camera link
- A screenshot
- A saved clip or file
Create a new channel
- In Chat, select New Channel (plus sign).
- Enter a channel name.
- Choose Public or Private:
- Public channels are visible to all users, indicated by a hashtag beside the room name.
- Private channels are visible only to invited users, indicated by a padlock icon beside the room name.
- Add members (if private). For public, you can also select initial members.
- Select Create.
Share a camera feed in chat
- Dock the camera you want to share.
- Open the camera Actions (≡) menu and select Share in Chat.
- Choose the destination chat or channel.
- Choose Select.
