Call & incident management

Manage CAD calls, create incidents, dock cameras, and collaborate on live operations using map-based tools.

View CAD calls and dock nearby cameras

The CAD Drawer displays active calls for service and allows you to open tabs with camera coverage near each call location.

Enable the CAD Drawer

  1. On the Map, select Layers from the top toolbar.
  2. Scroll to the Active Calls layer and toggle it on. The CAD Drawer appears at the bottom of the screen. Triangular call icons are added to the Map.
    • Red = High priority
    • Yellow = Medium priority
    • Green = Low priority

View and manage a call

  1. Open the CAD Drawer (bottom of screen) to view active calls.
  2. Use search or filters to find a call. The columns show call metadata, including location and camera proximity.
  3. In the Actions column, select Add Tab. This creates a new tab for the call and docks the four closest cameras automatically.
  4. Hover over a docked camera to see its location in relation to the call on the Map.

Optional: View call details from the Map

Linking response units to calls is not covered in current training content and may be a future or admin-specific feature.

  1. On the Map, select the triangle icon for a call.
    1. (Optional) To dock additional cameras, use the Draw Circle or Draw Polygon tool on the side toolbar to select nearby cameras. Then choose Dock Cameras from the menu.

Note: Docking is not required to view CAD call details, but it may provide additional context if nearby cameras are available.
  2. In the pop-up, select the options menu (three dots) to:
    • View call history by address or phone number
    • View past calls near this location

Create an incident

Incident management is designed to create a dynamic map that updates in real time to keep all of your teams informed during critical events or operations. You can initiate an incident tab in multiple ways:

  • By dragging the Add Incident icon onto the map
  • By selecting Add Tab from the CAD Drawer
  • Or by auto-docking cameras from an alert notification
  1. On the Map, select Drag and Drop to Add Incident on the side toolbar. Drag it to the proper location and name it. A tab appears at the bottom of the map.
  2. Select the Actions (⋮) button and then select Incident Management. A toolbar appears. Shows the incident management toolbar.
  3. With the toolbar, you can draw on the map and/or add icons. You can also change their color with the Edit Shape Colors button on the incident toolbar.
  4. Once you have mapped out the incident, you can share it by selecting Share Incident on the incident toolbar, and then making your selections and selecting Save.
  5. During the incident, you can:
    • Move or add shapes or icons, which updates in real time for all users.
    • Change colors of the shapes and/or delete them.
    • Show which parts of the structure still need to be cleared by selecting Layers and then toggling Room Clearing on. As rooms are cleared, drag the Clear Room check mark over the cleared room.

Archive or delete incidents

  1. In the Actions (⋮) menu of an active incident, select Manage Tabs.
    • To archive, select Archive.
    • To delete, select Delete.

Create and adjust grids in an incident

Control layout of camera grids within an incident. These grid overlays are distinct from video grids and are used for visualizing cleared zones or structured searches.

  1. In the incident tab, select Add Grid from the incident toolbar.
  2. Adjust grid rows and columns as needed. You can also adjust Fill Color, Stroke Color, Fill Opacity, Stroke Weight, Stroke Opacity, and whether to Show grid labels. Select Save when done.

Start a LiveLink session

Initiate a live video session with a caller directly from a CAD event. LiveLink invitations can only be launched from a Call for Service (CFS) icon on the map. Callers do not need to install an app. The session opens in their mobile browser.

Note: LiveLink access depends on your organization’s Axon account configuration and licensing for livestreaming and caller sessions. If you don’t see this option, contact your administrator to check your access level.

  1. On the Map, select a Call for Service (CFS) icon (triangle with exclamation mark).
  2. If a mobile number is available, select Invite to LiveLink.
  3. Confirm the phone number and click Join.
  4. Click Send to issue a secure text invitation to the caller. The caller needs to select the link in the text, grant permissions for their camera and microphone, and then select a button to join the video room.
  5. A LiveLink room opens where you and the caller can connect in real time.

Use audio/video settings

Control microphone, speaker, and camera settings in a LiveLink room.

  1. While in a LiveLink session, use the toolbar icons for:
    • Microphone mute/unmute
    • Video on/off
    • Volume control
  2. If needed, select a different camera or mic from device settings.
  3. Test audio/video quality with the participant before continuing.

Manage LiveLink recordings

Review, download, or delete past LiveLink sessions from the fususVAULT. LiveLink recordings may be retained according to agency data policy.

  1. In the navbar, select fususVAULT and then select Live Links.
  2. Locate the LiveLink recording using filters or folder search.
  3. Select the session and choose an action:
    • To download, select the Actions (⋮) menu of the viewer, and then select Download Video.
    • To delete the video, Delete.
