User accounts & permissions

Create users, assign roles, and control access with permissions and policies tailored to your organization.

Create or edit a user account

This section applies only to organizations that manage users directly in Fusus. If your organization uses Axon-managed identity (SSO or 1XP), user accounts are created and managed externally in Evidence.com.

To create a new user:

  1. In the navbar, select Users, then choose Organization.
  2. To add a user, select Add User (big yellow plus sign).
  3. Enter the required user information, including name, email, and login settings.
  4. (Optional) Assign a call sign or team.
  5. Select Save.

To edit an existing user:

  1. In the Users list, find the user, select the Actions (⋮) button on that user, and then select Edit.
  2. Update fields as needed.
  3. Select Save.

Assign users to permission groups

You can create permission groups based on roles in your organization and add users to them.

  1. In the navbar, select Users, then choose Permission Groups.
  2. Select a permission group to open it.
  3. In the right pane, select Add Users.
  4. Search for and select users to assign.
  5. Select Save Users.

Create a new role (permission group)

  1. In the navbar, select Users, then select Permission Groups.
  2. Select Add Group (big yellow plus sign).
  3. Enter a group name and select Save.
  4. To define access, select Edit (pencil) on the new group:
    • Select Add Permissions to grant system capabilities.
    • Select Add Policy to restrict specific locations, cameras, or layers.
  5. Select Save to finalize the role.

Use policies to restrict access

Use policies to limit what users with a given permission group can access. Policies override permissions. If a user’s role grants access to all cameras but a policy denies access to one camera, that camera is hidden.

  1. From the navbar, select Users, then select Permission Groups.
  2. Select the group you want to edit.
  3. In the group settings, select Add policy.
  4. Choose the asset type (e.g., Cameras, Locations, etc.).
  5. Select items to restrict.
  6. Choose Deny access and name the policy.
  7. Select Save.
