The schedule for the October 2024 release is as follows:

  • Customers in the Enterprise region (.ent.evidence.com), Canada (.ca.evidence.com), U.S. Federal (.evidence.com), and U.S. Law Enforcement region (.evidence.com) receive on October 30, 2024.
  • Customers in South America (.la.evidence.com), New Zealand, the new European region (.eur.evidence.com), and the European legacy region (.eu.evidence.com) receive on October 31, 2024.
  • Customers in Australia (.au.evidence.com) and the United Kingdom receive on November 5, 2024.

We don’t expect any downtime during this update.

Axon Body 4

  • OS v1.2438 starts with early access devices on October 14. This phased rollout is expected to span 3.5 weeks with general availability targeted for November 4. To enroll devices in early access ahead of the general release, visit Early Access Devices.
  • Cameras can now receive a list of Wi-Fi networks configured in Axon Evidence through LTE connection if Respond is enabled. To enable, contact your CSM.
  • Information for the change in camera pooling from the prior update can be viewed at Operate your camera.

Axon Body 3

Dock v3.20 for Body 2 Camera, TASER 7, and TASER 10 introduces IPv6 support (IPv4 still supported), support for IPv6/IPv4 dual-stack environments, and support for seven new languages: Spanish (Spain, separate from Latin America), Portuguese (Portugal, separate from Brazil), Hebrew, Hindi, Slovak, Turkish, and Polish. Starting in mid-October and continuing through early November, we will begin a phased deployment of firmware update v2.2439 for Axon Fleet 3.

Axon ALPR

See Search in Axon Evidence for:

  • US1 users who have enabled the Flock Safety Vehicle Characteristic enrichment service can now search using Plate State, Vehicle Body, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Color and Plate Type.
  • Search parameters are now grouped more logically.
  • You can now search ALPR Hit records based on the associated hotlist, which is now sorted by Active and Expired.
  • The Hotlist Record screen now includes columns for dates the record was added and updated.

Device Checkout for Android (0.7.x) and iOS (2.1.x) will be deployed to the app stores with an anticipated release date of 10/17/2024. These updates include:

  • Alignment with International security standards using improved session handling.
  • Increased Session Lifetime to 90 days.

Axon Body 4

Starting November 25th for early access and continuing through mid-December, we will begin a phased deployment of Body 4 firmware that includes, among other updates, BWC-based MFA. This feature allows agencies to configure cameras for use as multi-factor devices for login to Axon systems. To use this feature, users can open the authenticator menu on any camera assigned to them and use the 6-digit code displayed on the screen. Access the authenticator on the camera through the menu (double-press Select between the volume buttons) or press Programmable Button 2.

Axon Body 3

Starting November 25th for early access and continuing through mid-December, we will begin a phased deployment of Body 3 firmware that includes, among other updates, BWC-based MFA. This feature allows agencies to configure cameras for use as multi-factor devices for login to Axon systems. To use this feature, users can open the authenticator menu on any camera assigned to them and use the 6-digit code displayed on the screen. Access the authenticator on the camera through the menu (double-press Select between the volume buttons) or long press Program (below Volume Down).

Body-Worn Camera for MFA

In an upcoming release, we will introduce an MFA authentication option for Axon Body 3 and Axon Body 4, saving time for Axon Body users to sign in to our applications. More information will be available in the release notes when that feature is released.

Axon Interview

The date for Interview v4.17 release is deferred until Jan 17, 2025.

Axon View XL

In November 2024, you’ll have the option to enable enhanced security to keep evidence stored on Axon Body 3 devices safer from unauthorized access when using ViewXL. In Axon Evidence, turn on the Enable Evidence Management Permissions option at Admin > Axon Body 3 to force users attempting to access videos to be validated to the permissions set for their account to ensure proper access to view and/or modify. This feature requires a stable internet connection and firmware v1.34.n. See “User permissions and mute configuration” on Admin settings.
