Axon battery shipping guidance
How to safely ship your batteries back to Axon
Your device being returned to Axon may contain Lithium-Ion batteries. When improperly shipped, the chemical contents of batteries may create high levels of heat or catch fire. For this reason, we have provided you with safety regulations and precautions when preparing Axon products for shipment.
If batteries are swollen or damaged, do not return and safely dispose locally.
Guidance for UN3481 and UN3091 Ground Shipments
Packing instructions for UN3481 and UN3091 for ground shipments:
- Pack in outer packaging of adequate strength and design to accommodate transport of the equipment. Total package weight should not exceed 60 lbs.
- Do not mix equipment of different UN classifications in the same package.
- Equipment must be secured against movement within package.
- Seal up the outer package with strong packing tape.
- Place UN label on the outside of package. (Printable labels available on page 2 and 3)
- Place shipping Label on the outside of package.

Guidance for UN3481 and UN3091 by air service
For air shipments including UN3481 and UN3091, lithium-Ion batteries must be packed at a ratio of 1 taser handle to 1 battery and must not exceed 5 KG Battery weight per package. Same packing instructions as above.

UN3481 printable label and instructions
- Must be displayed on a background of sharply contrasting color; all of the UN3481 red borders must be visible
- Must be unobscured by labels or attachments
- Must be located away from any other marking (such as advertising) that could substantially reduce its visibility
