Get started with custom metadata tagging

  1. Configure custom metadata fields: Follow the steps outlined in the article Custom Metadata to configure and enable custom metadata fields on Evidence.com. Auto-Tagging supports all types of custom metadata fields: freeform, validated, and drop-down.
  2. Add custom metadata columns to your Auto-Tagging CSV file: When you export CAD/RMS data to CSV files, ensure new columns start with the prefix 'Custom'. If you need help reconfiguring CSV exports, contact your Axon representative.

  3. Enable custom metadata and automated CSV extracts:
    • To enable the custom metadata tagging feature, contact your Axon representative. During the initial setup, Axon Professional Services Organization (PSO) automates the extraction of CAD/RMS data to CSV files for your organization. To add the new 'Custom' columns to the CSV exports, submit a support ticket.
  4. Modify auto-tagged fields: If you need to modify which metadata fields are auto-tagged, contact your Axon representative. They can adjust these settings to enable or disable specific metadata fields for your organization.

After the CSV exports are modified and formatted, all custom metadata fields of your evidence will be auto-populated by the corresponding 'Custom' columns in your CSV files, and will appear on the evidence details page.
