Request an Auto-Transcript
If your organization has an Auto-Transcribe Unlimited Add-On plan, Auto-Transcripts are automatically created for any recordings made on Axon devices that are uploaded to Axon Evidence.
If your organization uses A la Carte Minutes, or if you need an Auto-Transcript for a recording made on a non-Axon device, you can request an Auto-Transcript for either a single piece of evidence or multiple pieces of evidence.
Single Auto-Transcript
To request an Auto-Transcript for a single piece of evidence, take these steps:
- Select the evidence name to open the evidence detail page.
- In the Transcript section on the Overview tab, select Auto-Transcribe.

- Select a language from the Transcript Language menu.
- Select Start.
- Select Okay on the confirmation window to keep working while you wait for the Auto-Transcript.
- Auto-Transcription is performed in the system background and does not impact Axon Evidence performance.
- A spinning wheel in the Transcript tab shows the Auto-Transcription is in progress. Axon Evidence will send you an email when the transcription is complete.
If your organization uses the A la Carte Add-On plan, the number of available Auto-Transcribe minutes is shown when confirming the request. If your organization does not have enough minutes available, you will not be able to complete the request.
Users must have Auto-Transcribe permissions enabled for their assigned Role to request a transcript, and Auto-Transcript processing is recorded in the Evidence and User Audit Trails.
Bulk Auto-Transcripts
You can request transcripts for multiple files from Evidence or Case Search.
Axon Evidence does not send Auto-Transcribe completion emails for bulk Auto-Transcribe requests.
To create a bulk request from Evidence Search:
- Select Evidence in the main navigation menu to open Evidence Search, and use the search options to find the video and audio files you want to Auto-Transcribe.
- Use the checkboxes to select multiple files for Auto-Transcription.
- Select Evidence Actions > Auto Transcribe.
- Review the number of files selected.
- If your organization uses the A la Carte Add-On plan, the estimated number of minutes required for the Auto-Transcription and the number of minutes remaining at your organization are displayed.
- Select a language from the Transcript Language menu.
- Select Start. The evidence details page for each file will show that the Auto-Transcription is in process.

To create a bulk request from Case Search:
- Select Cases in the main navigation menu to open Case Search, and use the search options to open a case containing the evidence you want Auto-Transcribed.
- Switch to the Evidence tab.
- Use the checkboxes to select multiple files for Auto-Transcription.
- Select the More Actions [...] > Auto-Transcribe.
- Review the number of files selected. If your organization uses the A la Carte Add-On plan, the estimated number of minutes required for the Auto-Transcription and the number of minutes remaining at your organization are displayed.
- Select a language from the Transcript Language menu.
- Select Start. The evidence detail page for each file will show that the Auto-Transcription is in process.
