Expungements

You can use the Bookings expungement feature to permanently delete booking information from Axon Records when required by a court order. Once expunged, the selected data and any relationships to it are permanently removed from Axon Records. Because expungement permanently deletes information from the database, it cannot be undone.

When you expunge a booking, you can remove the following types of data:

  • Entire booking: Permanently delete the entire booking record.
  • Entire person: Remove the person and their information from the booking record.
  • Personally identifying information: Remove the person's information from the booking, without removing the person.
    • If you select this option, booking photos are NOT expunged. To expunge booking photos, you must instead select either Entire booking or Entire person.
  • Arrest: Remove individual charges, or the entire arrest from the booking record.

Expunging a booking is similar to expunging an incident or report, except you start from the Booking profile.

From the Booking profile, select More actions > Expunge booking, then follow the remaining steps explained in Expungements, beginning with Step 2.

After completion, the expunged data is permanently deleted from the database and no longer appears in searches or on the booking profile.
