Axon Body 4
Firmware 1.2619
Firmware version 1.2619 is now available for Axon Body 4 devices. The rollout began with early access in late June and will continue in phases, with general availability expected by mid-July.

On-device language support for German, Portuguese, and Spanish (ES)
Axon Body 4 now supports on-device prompts and messages in German, Portuguese, and Spanish (ES). The device language is automatically configured based on the user's default language selection in Axon Evidence. The phased rollout began in late June, with general availability expected by mid-July.

Security upgrades for Bluetooth broadcasts
With Firmware version 1.2619, AB4 cameras now support randomized Bluetooth addressing during interaction with Signal and other Axon devices. The camera's beacon address now rotates regularly, improving privacy without affecting existing camera connections or requiring devices to be re-paired.
- This upgrade is only supported once a customer has fully transitioned to the Axon app. It's not compatible with the legacy Axon View app.
- Once an agency hits 100% Axon app usage, Axon will enable this automatically in their instance. No additional action is needed from the customer.
Resolved issues
- Resolved a rare issue where certain videos recorded using POV had muffled audio on playback when a microphone was obstructed.
- Resolved an issue where some AB4s failed to upload logs via a ViewXL connection when unregistered.
- Resolved an issue where Low Battery icon was not cleared on each dock/undock.
- Resolved an error where cameras became stuck while in pairing mode.
Axon Body 3
Firmware 1.2619
Firmware version 1.2619 is being released for Axon Body 3 through a phased rollout. The rollout began with early access in late June, with general availability expected in mid-July.

- Resolved an issue where certain cameras would fail to sync agency settings after dock-based registration.
- Addressed instances where large evidence files would periodically stall during upload requiring re-dock.
- Resolved an error where camera LCD became stuck while in pairing mode.
Axon Fleet
Fleet 3 Smart Capture Tray
For Fleet Dashboard users, Smart Tray provides access to recent Smart Captures and the information extracted from them. Officers can quickly locate captured data and copy extracted fields for use in third-party systems, such as RMS applications and NCIC lookups.

Axon ALPR
State of Origin Recognition Update (Outpost and Fleet)
State of Origin recognition now delivers more accurate results across U.S. license plates, supports a broader range of plate designs, and adds country-level recognition for Canadian plates. The update also improves recognition of blurry, partially obscured, and newer plate designs while returning Unknown when confidence is low to improve result reliability.

License Plate Recognition Improvements (Outpost)
License plate detection accuracy has been improved to reduce false-positive reads, particularly in daytime conditions. The system also detects repeat sightings of long-dwelling vehicles more quickly by shortening the merge window for repeated reads.

See license state and jurisdiction at a glance on ALPR record
ALPR hit records in the Fleet 3 Dashboard now display the license plate's state or jurisdiction alongside the hotlist name and offense category, making it easier for officers to confirm plate origin during dispositioning.

Installation and Device Reliability Updates (Outpost)
Installation visibility has been improved with full-brightness LED indicators, updated installer software, and additional technician commands. Device registration is also more reliable on slower network connections through an increased registration timeout.

Device Stability and Recovery Improvements (Outpost)
Resolved issues affecting device position recovery, fixed-location reporting, image quality during changing lighting conditions, and video processing stability. The update also improves recovery from stalled video streams and reduces unnecessary Bluetooth-related system log entries.

Convert ALPR records to evidence from Fleet 3 Dashboard
Officers can now convert an ALPR read or hit to evidence directly from the Fleet 3 Dashboard, without switching to Axon Evidence. Before the record uploads, users can add or edit evidence details, including owner, title, ID, category, and tags, and the converted record uploads immediately and takes priority over video evidence uploads.

Axon Interview
Axon Interview 4.18.6.7
Now available, this update addresses targeted customer-reported issues and improves overall system reliability. The upgrade is supported via the Axon Server Updater and is available for download here.
The upgrade typically takes 30–60 minutes. Interview rooms connected to servers being updated will be unavailable during this time. This release applies to agencies using Axon Interview with the Axon Evidence cloud system. Organizations using Axon Evidence Local should remain on version 4.16.
Upon GA of 4.18, supported versions will be:
- 4.18: Current general availability release
- 4.16: Maintenance support release (primarily for agencies using Axon Evidence Local)
Organizations running earlier versions will be required to upgrade to a supported release prior to further troubleshooting. If your organization is running an unsupported version, please contact Axon support prior to updating. Organizations are encouraged to plan migration to version 4.18 upon general availability.

Resolved issues
- Resolved an issue where login credentials could be retained between sessions on shared interview room panels.
- Resolved an issue where the Create Interview button could become unresponsive following a server connectivity interruption, requiring a client restart to recover.
- Resolved an issue with memory spikes during maintenance that can cause server crashes.
- Resolved an issue where Live Streaming Video Playback (DVR) duration values above the default could cause storage to fill unexpectedly. Admins can review or adjust this setting in Admin Panel → Recording → Maximum Playback Time (default: 8 hours).
- Additional stability and performance improvements have been made to further enhance system reliability.
Axon Device Manager
Signal Sensor Setup and Calibration Improvements
The Signal Sensor calibration experience has been updated with a clearer setup flow, a saved firmware update preference, and the ability to upload diagnostic logs when calibration fails to help troubleshoot issues more efficiently.

Redesigned Home Screen
The home screen has been redesigned to provide faster access to common tasks. Separate Tap a device and Scan a code tiles make it easier to choose a connection method, while Update Firmware and Register & Set Up are displayed as dedicated cards.

This release includes reliability and stability improvements that reduce errors and provide a smoother user experience on Android and iOS.

Axon Body Mini Support
Axon Device Manager now supports the Axon Body Mini. Users can register and manage Axon's newest body camera directly from the app.

Axon View XL
Bluetooth Broadcast Security Improvements
View XL now supports randomized Bluetooth addressing for Axon Body 3 and Axon Body 4 cameras. Bluetooth beacon addresses now rotate automatically to improve privacy without affecting existing camera connections or requiring devices to be re-paired.

Quality Improvements
This release includes reliability and security improvements, including a fix for an issue that could prevent the Axon Fleet service from restarting automatically and updated authentication to use the latest secure session token standard. These changes take effect automatically after updating.

View XL 1.35: Manual Update Notifications for Older Versions
Beginning after the June 30 deadline, users running View XL version 1.32.4 will begin seeing notifications during sign-in prompting them to update. Devices on this version cannot receive automatic updates and must be updated through your organization's standard deployment process to continue receiving security updates and new features. Axon Body 4
Nearby Body Camera Activation (all regions): The release date has moved to the end of August. Nearby Body Camera Activation will be available to all customers in their Axon Evidence admin settings. This setting will be disabled by default and will also be compatible with role-based settings. Additional details will be provided in the August release notes.
