Previous steps: Install and set up Evidence Upload XT

(Note The information in the "Deploy and set up Evidence Upload XT" article is primarily intended for Admin roles)

Overview

Evidence Upload XT is a Windows-based desktop application that enables users to easily upload non-Axon generated digital evidence to their agency's Axon Evidence account. This makes it easier to use Axon Evidence as your central Digital Evidence Management system (DEMs).

If your admin didn't install Upload XT for you, you can download and install it using these steps:

  3. When the download is complete, open the .ZIP file, and then open the installer package.
  4. Follow the steps in the installer.

Your Axon Evidence role must have the Upload External Files permission set to Allowed to use Evidence Upload XT. If you are not sure about your role permissions, check with your Axon Evidence administrator.

  1. Launch the application.
    • Double-click the Upload XT v2 desktop icon. OR
    • Select Start and search for Axon Evidence Upload XT.
    • Open the Evidence Upload XT app.
On the Agency lookup page, enter the Axon Evidence URL for your agency and then select Continue.
    • Use the Axon Evidence sub-domain as the agency name. When you go to Axon Evidence for your agency, you can see the sub-domain in your web browser's address bar. Example: Example Police Departement has the Axon Evidence URL: https://examplepd.evidence.com, so their sub-domain is examplepd.
  2. The Sign In page for Axon Evidence will open in your browser. Enter your Axon Evidence username and password, and then select Sign In.
    • Your Evidence Upload XT username and password are the same as your Axon Evidence username and password.
    • If you are in a Single Sign-On agency, you will use your normal agency credentials.
    • Select Continue to confirm your account information.

After signing in, you are taken to the Upload Files page.

Sign-in for federal customers

Upload XT supports federal agency domains (e.g., cbp.gov, us.af.mil) in addition to Axon Evidence domains, enabling broader access for federal customers.

Tips when signing in to Evidence Upload XT

  • If you have forgotten your Username or Password, choose Forgot Password on the sign in page.
  • Axon Evidence sends an email with a temporary password. Use it to sign in, reset your password, and then return to Evidence Upload XT.

Sign out

Axon recommends signing out of Evidence Upload XT after completing your uploads.

  1. On the Add Files page, select the Settings icon (gear) and then choose Sign Out.
