Early Intervention System (EIS)

The privileges related to the EIS module appear in the Early Intervention System category as shown in the table below.

Within this category there are "static" privileges, as well as workflow privileges. Generally, the static privileges determine which buttons and options appear to users when they open an alert. The workflow privileges determine which actions a user can take on an alert, depending on its current state (New, IA Review, etc.).

Workflows

Once created, an EIS alert moves through a workflow. Each state is associated with multiple privileges, which give you granular control over which users can take actions on an alert, based on its current state. EIS alerts can be updated to various states, and can move between any of these states at any time:

  • IA Review (Internal Affairs review)
  • Review (Supervisor review)
  • Chain of Command Review
  • Secondary Review
  • Intervention Pending
  • Resolved (The alert has been addressed with the appropriate interventions.)
  • False Positive (The alert incorrectly indicated that an intervention was needed.)
  • Acknowledged (After reviewing, the supervisor decided that no action was necessary.)

The privileges for workflows appear at the end of the category. Each workflow has its own subcategory, and within that subcategory, privileges are sorted by state. The states are listed alphabetically, not by the order in which they appear in the workflow (e.g., Acknowledged, which is a resolved state, appears before New).
The image displays the Early Intervention System section with privileges grouped into categories such as Access and Analytics, each showing the number of privileges allowed alongside options to Allow All or Prohibit All. A highlighted section expands Workflow - Early Intervention System Alert, showing subcategories like Acknowledged State and Chain of Command Review State. Each subcategory lists the number of allowed privileges with options to manage them.

The hover tooltip for the New State - Create tasks privilege (or the first state in the workflow) provides additional details about the workflow as a whole, and not just the Create tasks privilege.
The image displays the Workflow - Early Intervention System subcategory. Under New State, a privilege for Create tasks includes a tooltip that explains how tasks move through the workflow.

The table below explains how each workflow privilege works:
