Review mode

Evidence review makes it easier to review related pieces of evidence at one time. Evidence Review is a carousel-type experience for quickly viewing and flipping through sets of digital evidence. You can select and view multiple evidence files at one time without having to open the evidence details page for each piece of evidence.

To open evidence review:

  1. While viewing the Evidence tab for a case, select any piece of evidence.
The image shows the Evidence tab within a case in the Axon Justice platform. The left panel contains a navigation menu with icons for different sections, while the center panel lists evidence items filtered by type. One video file is highlighted in yellow, showing file titles, sizes, upload and creation dates, disclosure status, and duration.
  2. Evidence Review opens with all case evidence listed in the left panel. Evidence that you have not previously viewed displays a NEW marker. When you view the evidence, the marker is removed.
    • If you do not have permission to view a piece of evidence (such as restricted evidence or lack of permission), that evidence will NOT be visible in evidence review.

  3. Using the tabs, you can access the following:
    1. Overview: Get a quick summary of the evidence including Disclosure Status, Title, Collected By, Created On, Location, Transcript Summary (Brief One users only), and Multicam.
    2. Details: View or update primary metadata, metadata, custom metadata, view retention, add to case, and file data. When you open the Details tab, all sections are expanded by default. Select Collapse sections to hide the contents of each section. Select Expand sections to show the contents again.
    3. Notes: Add or review internal or external notes.
    4. Map: See where the evidence was captured, when available. The map shows GPS coordinates, timestamps, and movement paths, helping you visualize locations over time. If you have permission to edit evidence, you can update the location information when editing is allowed. If you have permission to view evidence, you can open the Map tab.
    5. Transcript: Review transcripts for supported audio or video files; or use keyword search to jump to specific moments in the recording. For those with Brief One, the AI Generated Transcript Summary will be visible above the transcript.
    6. Markers and Clips: Access saved markers and clips. For those with Brief One, the AI Generated Transcript Moments will be visible within markers and clips. Learn more about Markers and Clips.
    7. Redaction: Open existing redactions or start a new one. Learn more about Redaction.
    8. Related: Find linked or derived files, like clips, redacted version, or grouped items. Learn more abut related evidence.
