Axon Interview

Hotfix 4.18

Log Upload Settings Update: The Retry Attempts setting has been removed from the Log Uploads Settings panel. A new setting, Max Logs Size (GB), has been introduced to control the maximum disk space used by log files awaiting upload.

  • Default limit: 2 GB
  • Configurable range: 0.5 GB to 20 GB
  • Behavior: When the limit is exceeded, the system automatically deletes the oldest log files to remain within the configured size
  • This setting is available in the Log Uploads Settings section of the Admin panel.

Improved Log Upload Recovery After Network Outage: Resolved an issue where log uploads could stop after a prolonged network outage. Log uploads now automatically resume once network connectivity is restored, without requiring a Server Watchdog restart.

Availability: US4, CA1, US1, US3, EU1, AU1, NL1, UK2, DE1, AW2

Axon View XL

Security update

Action Required by June 30: Manual Update Needed to Maintain Secure Auto-Updates in View XL

We have identified an issue on devices running View XL version 1.32.4 that prevents them from receiving automatic updates. To restore auto-update functionality — and ensure continued access to security patches and feature improvements. Agencies must manually update to version 1.33.2 or later by June 30.

After June 30, devices that have not been manually updated will be unable to receive critical updates in a timely manner, including important security fixes. We strongly recommend deploying the update via your MDM or standard IT software distribution process as soon as possible to avoid disruption.

Important Installation Note:

Before launching the installer, ensure the View XL application is fully closed. Running the installer while the app is open may trigger an error. If this occurs, re-run the installer and select “Repair” to complete installation.

Device Checkout

Autonomous Single App Mode (ASAM)

Axon Device Checkout now supports Autonomous Single App Mode (ASAM), allowing agencies to lock shared devices to a single approved application during checkout sessions. When enabled, the device automatically enters a restricted mode upon checkout, preventing access to other apps and ensuring officers stay focused on the intended workflow. Administrators can configure ASAM settings directly within the Device Checkout management console, with no additional device-level setup required. Once the device is checked back in, it automatically exits ASAM and returns to its standard state, ready for the next user.
