Axon Body 4
Firmware Update Process Improvement for Axon Body Cameras
Axon Body 3, Axon Body Workforce, Axon Body 4, and Axon Body Mini cameras will receive an improvement to the firmware update process. No workflows will change for users or administrators. Devices that have been offline and missed recent updates may require two update cycles to become current. Available in all regions beginning September 2026.
Availability: All regions
Firmware v1.2631 Releasing September 22nd
Firmware 1.2631 improves connectivity and camera reliability, including fixes for small recording, display, haptic feedback, and video mask behaviors.
The phased rollout began with early access devices on August 25, 2026, with general availability targeted for September 22, 2026 in all regions.

Axon Body 3
Firmware Update Process Improvement for Axon Body Cameras
Axon Body 3, Axon Body Workforce, Axon Body 4, and Axon Body Mini cameras will receive an improvement to the firmware update process. No workflows will change for users or administrators. Firmware v1.2631 Releasing September 22nd
Firmware 1.2631 improves general connectivity, restores the LCD “Lights Off” icon after a power cycle, and improves haptic feedback consistency during recording. The phased rollout began with early access devices on September 9, 2026, with general availability targeted for September 22, 2026.

Axon Fleet
Disable ALPR Fleet Search in Axon Evidence (US1)
As of August 27 in US1, Agencies can now opt in to hide the ALPR Fleet Search tab in Axon Evidence, making Fusus the single place for ALPR searches and helping ensure required search-purpose information is captured consistently. CSMs can enable this setting for individual agencies; when enabled, users who access Fleet Search in Axon Evidence are redirected to Fusus ALPR Search.

Fleet 2026 Q4 Interim Release v2.2634.4950
Smart Capture (General Availability) — Smart Capture is now generally available in Fleet Dashboard for agencies on eligible plans. The Smart Tray lets users quickly access recent Smart Captures and copy extracted data into third-party systems, such as RMS applications and NCIC lookups.
- The Fleet integration is disabled by default; contact your Axon representative to enable it. Users must also upgrade their Fleet firmware and Dashboard versions and restart the system for Smart Capture data and the Smart Capture evidence tab to appear in Fleet 3 Dashboard.
Performance and reliability — This release also improves ALPR record handling, evidence uploads, system stability, and security. No action is required.

Axon ALPR

Axon Body 4 firmware 1.2637 is scheduled to release to Early Access customers starting October 6th, deploying in waves over three weeks, with general availability scheduled for October 27th. This release includes performance improvements.

Axon ALPR
Convert ALPR records to evidence from Fleet 3 Dashboard - Release Date Change
Previously announced as available August 21, 2026, this feature has been rescheduled, with a new release date to be determined. Once available, officers can convert ALPR reads or hits to evidence directly from the Fleet 3 Dashboard, add or edit evidence details before upload, and prioritize the converted record over video evidence uploads. Contact your Axon representative to enable access.

Outpost GA8 Release - October 2026
When released, Outpost will detect and record vehicles when a license plate is missing, blocked, or unreadable, with vehicle and context images that provide more information about the surrounding scene. This release also improves fixed-camera location accuracy and image quality in changing light conditions and resolves a rare issue that could interrupt plate processing during device updates or reboots. Available October 8, 2026.

Axon View XL
View XL v1.36 Releasing in October
View XL 1.36 will no longer support Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 due to a required Electron framework security update. Devices running these operating systems cannot install View XL 1.36 or future releases and should be upgraded to Windows 10 or later to continue receiving security updates, improvements, and new features. The Windows installer size will also increase to up to 195 MB with this release. Release is scheduled in early October.
This release also includes reliability improvements that reduce errors and support a smoother experience.
