These release notes describe all user-facing changes that will be included in the next Axon Fusus releases, along with advance notice of major upcoming features, updates, and applications.

Releases begin rolling out at 9 AM Pacific time and may continue through the following day. We do not expect any downtime during these updates. Please note that availability is subject to change. 2026.26 Release notes

Web experience features and enhancements

ALPR Sharing

Law enforcement agencies using Axon Fusus can now securely share ALPR data with specific partner agencies without copying any data out of their own system, enabling faster mutual-aid and regional collaboration while the data owner stays in control.

Agencies can:

  • Invite a specific partner agency to share ALPR data — sharing is always donor-initiated, and the recipient must separately accept before anything is shared.
  • Limit what's shared using two independent conditions: only reads matching the recipient's hotlist (the default), specific Axon device types, or both.
  • Require every cross-agency search to declare a matching offense category before a donor's data is included in results.
  • Revoke a sharing relationship at any time.
  • Review a full audit trail of sharing activity, from both the donor and recipient side.

ALPR Audit

Agencies using Axon Fusus now have expanded visibility into how ALPR data is used — by their own users, by partner agencies receiving shared data, and through changes made to hotlists and sharing relationships.

Agencies can:

  • Run four dedicated reports from the LPR Audit page: Internal ALPR Activity (your own users' searches, exports, and record access), Network ALPR Activity (how partner agencies used data you shared), ALPR Data Sharing (the full sharing-relationship lifecycle), and the ALPR Hotlist Management Audit Report (hotlist changes).
  • See every access or download of an ALPR record inside Select Region - Axon alongside Fusus activity, in one unified audit trail.
  • See additional fields captured automatically on relevant searches to support certain state-specific requirements (for example, camera location or camera count).

Availability: US1 using Sign In with Axon with the ALPR System Administration permission assigned. Expansion to CA1 and US4 is expected 8/11.

Enterprise and law enforcement camera sharing

U.S.-based enterprise and law enforcement customers can now securely share cameras with one another in Axon Fusus, simplifying collaboration during planned events and mutual-aid responses.

Fusus administrators can:

  • Share cameras across enterprise and law enforcement organizations.
  • Configure access permissions, including live viewing, recording playback, and optional expiration dates.
  • Accept, manage, or revoke shares from the Shares administration page.

Camera owners retain control:

  • Only the organization that owns a camera can create, modify, or revoke access to it.
  • Access is never granted automatically. Recipient organizations cannot reshare cameras or grant access to another organization.

Fusus 911 Audio Playback Controls

Operators can now review both live and ended 911 call audio directly within the 911 call panel using new playback controls. Advanced controls — including play, pause, 10-second rewind/forward, and timeline scrubbing — are collapsed by default, with mute and volume controls always visible.

On a live call, audio plays from the live position by default. If you scrub backward, a Return to Live tooltip lets you jump back to real time. On an ended call, playback starts from the beginning and displays the total call duration. Note that playback position does not persist when switching between calls — each call resets to its default starting point (live for active calls, zero for ended calls) on return.

These controls support rapid review of critical moments, real-time incident monitoring, and post-incident analysis without interrupting live call processing.

Alerts Panel toggle update

Alerts panel Location filter contains new toggle: "Show alerts not tied to a Fusus location" on by default, which lets you include or exclude real-time alerts that aren't associated with a named Fusus location.

New connection banner notification

Improved livestream messaging so users are clearly informed when a poor connection may affect video quality.

Web experience bug fixes and maintenance

Correct Appliance type name on Fusus Appliance dashboard

Appliance types now show friendly display names instead of internal code names.

CAD drawer fix

Fixed a crash that occurred when reopening the CAD drawer after closing it.

CAD alerts appear in real time

Fixed an issue where CAD alert toasts could stop appearing in real time when the Axon Devices layer was active on an Agency/Legacy SSO account, while calls were still being processed normally in the background.

Map layer preference now remembered on login

Map layer preferences are now applied when you first log in, so any layers you have turned off will stay off.

Incident Management tab viewable in VAULT

Fixed an issue where administrators could not see the Incident Management tab in fususVAULT.

Changed the behavior of ALPR hotlist filters

When no filters are selected, all alerts matching those hotlists are now excluded from results. Previously, having no filters selected behaved the same as selecting all of them (i.e., nothing was excluded).

Mobile (iOS and Android)

iOS bug fixes and maintenance

  • Alerts: Signing out now stops alert notifications. Once you sign out, no further alerts are delivered to the device.
  • Body-camera livestreaming: Axon body-camera livestreams now start automatically when you open the livestream card while the camera is recording, so there's no extra tap to begin watching.
  • Camera livestreaming: Livestreams from Fusus and external-appliance cameras now start more reliably.
  • Chat: You can now close a PDF attachment after viewing it and return to the conversation.

Android bug fixes and maintenance

  • This update improves the reliability of the Axon device list and map. The list and map now load consistently, including when a Fleet Hub device has no vehicle assigned.

2026.25 Release notes

FususDETECT security monitoring widget sunset notice

The fususDETECT security monitoring widget will no longer be available from the Fusus dashboard, along with the Appliance Monitoring link under fususCore appliances. Your Core devices remain fully protected — regular software patching and your agency's existing network security controls continue to apply, unchanged.

Features and enhancements

On 8/3/26, the Axon Fusus Team will enable DNSSEC (Domain Name System Security Extensions) for all regions.

What this means: DNSSEC protects against DNS spoofing and cache poisoning attacks, where an attacker forges DNS responses to redirect users to malicious servers. With DNSSEC turned on, your devices can confirm the address information they're getting is genuine, not faked.

Why it matters: Without this protection, an attacker can secretly redirect you to a malicious server instead of the real one. Turning on DNSSEC prevents this, so your devices and network can only connect to our services using address information that's been verified as authentic.

This is a security upgrade we're rolling out across our infrastructure.

Bug fixes and maintenance

ALPR filtering regression fix

Fixed an issue where alerts from license plate reader (LPR) hits weren't appearing for users who hadn't yet customized their ALPR alert filters. LPR alerts now display by default until you make a specific filter selection.

Boundary edits apply instantly

Fixed an issue where changes to an alert boundary did not take effect until the page was manually refreshed. Boundary edits now apply immediately within the current session.

Floor filter for docked camera fix

“Dock nearby cameras” now respects the alert’s floor, showing only cameras on that floor when available.

Device icon fix

Fixed an issue where Outpost and Lightpost device icons were incorrectly displayed as body-worn camera (BWC) icons when the map was zoomed out. Fixed-camera devices are now represented with the correct cluster icon, making it easier to distinguish device types at a glance.

ALPR plate image load fix
Fixed an issue where plate images sometimes failed to load on ALPR alerts, due to an expired authentication token not being refreshed automatically.

 

Token refresh fix

Fixed an issue where ALPR alerts from Fleet 3 vehicles in Fusus were missing source vehicle info and map location markers.

Features and enhancements

Improved livestream messaging for SLDP streams.

Users are now clearly informed when a poor connection may affect video quality.

 

Hotlist management

Users can now view and manage hotlists directly in Axon Fusus. From the new hotlist view, users can see which hotlists are active, what type they are, and whether they are configured to route alerts. Search, sort, and filter options make it faster to find records within a hotlist. Hotlists were previously managed in Evidence.com. With this update, users can manage them in Fusus as well. Both systems use the same source of truth, so changes made in one system appear in the other.

 

Users can now:

  • Upload a hotlist.

  • Edit hotlist alert settings.

  • Add a plate to a custom hotlist.

  • Search for a plate within a hotlist.

  • Receive alerts matched against a hotlist.

 

VAR Toggle now available

Introducing a new admin control for managing VAR Inference — the AI model that enriches LPR records by filling in missing or low-confidence attributes like vehicle color, make, and model. Available in all regions, excluding CA1.

  • Agencies can now turn VAR Inference on or off based on their compliance needs.

Bug fixes and maintenance

ALPR alerts populated

Fixed an issue where plate images sometimes failed to load on ALPR alerts, due to an expired authentication token not being refreshed automatically.

 

Enabled rules no longer greyed-out

Fixed an issue where an alert rule that was re-enabled continued to display with a disabled (greyed-out) appearance until the page was refreshed.

 

ALPR hotlist filter behavior

Updated ALPR hotlist filters so that leaving all hotlist filters unselected filters out matching ALPR alerts, instead of behaving like all filters were selected.
