Warrants

The Warrants module, accessed by selecting the gavel icon in the main navigation menu, lets you add court papers (criminal and civil) to Axon Records. In this module, you can:

Only users with specific privileges can access the Warrants. When you open the module, the My Tasks inbox loads. You may also see several other inboxes based on your organization's configuration and the Command Hierarchy groups and/or teams you belong to.

My Tasks inbox

The My Tasks inbox in the Warrants module shows all warrant tasks assigned to you. Use the tabs at the top of the screen to switch between different types of tasks:

The most recently updated tasks appear at the top of the list. Use the filters to refine which tasks are displayed:

  • Date Created
  • Date Assigned
  • Last Assigned By
  • Created By

The following information is included for each task on the In Progress tab:

  • Task: If the task is flagged as URGENT, what the task is, and the Paper ID
    • The Incident ID associated with the paper and how many reports associated with the incident are in progress (not applicable for every paper)
    • Selecting the task name opens the paper so you can begin working on it.
  • Author: Who created the paper, when it was submitted, and when it was updated
  • From: Who assigned the task to you, when it was assigned to you, and routing notes left by the user who assigned the task
  • Actions: An Assign button to reassign the task to a different user

Triage inbox

The Warrants module lets organizations incorporate a warrants review workflow (i.e., warrants must be reviewed and approved before they are finalized). Organizations that follow this review workflow can access a Triage inbox, which contains two tabs:

  • Pending Review: Court papers that need a review but are NOT currently assigned to a reviewer
  • In Progress: All court papers that are in progress and are either unassigned or assigned

Agency Court Papers inbox

The Agency Court Papers inbox in the Warrants module shows all court papers that have been created. The most recently updated papers appear at the top of the list.

Enter a Warrant ID or Person ID in the top search box to find a specific paper, or use the filters to refine which papers are displayed. You can also use the Warrants > Date Issued filter in Reports search to find incidents associated with a warrant.

The following information is included for each paper:

Overview

  • Court Paper ID
    • Select the ID to open the court paper.
  • Court-Issued Number
  • Issued date
  • Expiration date

Status

  • This displays the status of the court paper, not the status of the document.
  • Default options include Active, Served, Expired, Not Processable, Purged, Recalled. Contact your Axon representative to have additional statuses configured for your agency.

Subject

  • The person named in the court paper
  • DOB
  • Age
  • Sex

Location

  • The District, Sector, and Zone for the primary address of the court paper's subject

Assigned for Service

Actions

Open the Actions menu to take various actions on that court paper. These options vary depending on your privileges:

Select the checkboxes beside one or more papers and open the Actions menu to take action on all selected papers. Options include:
