The Axon August 2026 release is scheduled for August 25, 2026. This date indicates when features become available for download. To download the latest content, connect your VR headset and tablet to the internet. To download the latest VR Controller firmware, see Update firmware for VR Controllers.

We do not expect any downtime during these updates.

Simulator Training: Configurable Range (headset and tablet)

Simulator Training: Configurable Range enables trainers to build firearm and TASER energy weapon training exercises tailored to their agency’s needs. Configure drill sequences, target distances, target types and other training parameters to support qualification preparation, remedial training, and ongoing skills development. Community Engagement Training: Interactive Case Law III

Community Engagement Training now includes Interactive Case Law III: Graham v. Connor. In this scenario, trainees will learn about the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case, Graham v. Connor, and its impact on how use-of-force decisions are evaluated under the Fourth Amendment’s objective reasonableness standard.

Tactical Team Training

Scenario Editor Improvements

The Scenario Editor now supports decimal dimensions when using metric units, changing measurement units after scenario creation, viewing wall length while editing, and configuring idle subjects in surrender poses such as hands raised, kneeling, or lying down.

Session Improvements

Trainers now have more contextual subject controls, including preventing movement along blocked paths and showing weapon actions only for armed subjects. Hostage controls are organized by subject and action type, trainers can swap trainee positions during setup, and subject description labels can be hidden from the trainer's tablet during training.

After-Action Report Improvements

After-Action Report now includes a recenter control and clearer labels, markers, shot events, and TASER energy weapon deployment events. The event log also reduces repeated entries so key training events are easier to identify.

TASER Energy Weapon Deployment in the Corrections Environment

TASER energy weapons can now be deployed through prison bars in the Corrections environment, supporting additional training situations.

Facilitated training now requires devices from the same agency

Facilitated sessions in Simulator Training and Tactical Team Training must now be conducted only between headsets and tablets that are registered to the same agency. This change keeps training sessions isolated to devices within the same organization, regardless of the pairing method used.

Headset onboarding tutorial videos now include voiceovers

The onboarding tutorial videos in Simulator Training now include narrated voiceovers, making it easier for trainees and trainers to follow along while learning core headset features and workflows.

Resolved issues

  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training where the headset tutorial incorrectly instructed Focus Vision users to adjust an IPD dial that is not available on the device.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training where the trainee search bar on the tablet could become unresponsive after a search returned no results, preventing trainers from switching trainees.
  • Fixed an issue where some text and audio in the Move and Engage exercise in Simulator Training: Range Skills were not fully translated in all supported languages.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Range Skills where an exercise could end without starting any drills after the headset entered sleep mode on the What to Expect screen.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Range Skills where trainees who signed in using a QR code could appear as “Offline guest,” preventing the After-Action Report from being uploaded.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance where selecting End Scenario on the tablet did not end the exercise.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance where TASER probe deployments and NMI effects did not display or function correctly for both trainees during two-trainee sessions.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance where a solo session could incorrectly start as a two-trainee session, preventing the trainee from starting the exercise.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance where the “Scan the room marker” prompt could incorrectly appear after the headset resumed from sleep and remain visible during training.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where some scenario environments could experience reduced performance and frame rates.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where module descriptions could disappear from the library after selecting Choose New Playlist in the After-Action Report.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the tablet view could become out of sync with the headset during facilitated scenarios when the virtual officer was enabled.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the Trainee Starting Location options on the tablet for the Casino Patron Noise Complaint scenario displayed the same image instead of showing the different starting positions.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the casino patron in the Casino Patron Noise Complaint scenario could walk into a wall instead of returning to the room.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where armed subjects in the Burglary Suspect with Concealed Gun scenario could face and fire in the wrong direction instead of toward the trainee.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where trainers could be prevented from creating additional custom playlists.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the Partial Spread text in the tablet After-Action Report was difficult to read against the background.
  • Fixed multiple issues in Tactical Team Training affecting scenario editing, session setup and controls, subject and weapon behavior, TASER energy weapon deployments, and After-Action Report, including issues that could prevent sessions from starting or cause devices to remain on the loading screen when multiple users joined a shared session.
