The Axon July 2026 release is scheduled for July 9, 2026. This date indicates when features become available for download. To download the latest content, connect your VR headset and tablet to the internet. To download the latest VR Controller firmware, see Update firmware for VR Controllers.

We do not expect any downtime during these updates.

Tactical Team Training app (tablet and headset)

Tactical Team Training immerses one or two trainees in dynamic team-based VR scenarios built around coordinated response and decision-making under pressure. On the tablet application, trainers can create customizable multi-room layouts, manage subject behavior in real time, and adapt scenarios as situations evolve. The experience enables repeatable, scenario-driven training that helps agencies reinforce communication, movement, and tactical coordination across a wide range of operational situations. Simulator Training: Range Skills available in 11 additional languages

Simulator Training: Range Skills now includes localization support for 11 additional languages: Croatian, Czech, Danish, Finnish, Korean, Polish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. Trainees can access localized voice-over and text throughout supported Range Skills exercises after updating the headset firmware. See the FAQ: How do I check or update the headset firmware?.

Switch between VR Controllers more easily in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance and Tactical Team Training

Tactical Clearance and Tactical Team Training now support using a TASER VR Controller, Handgun VR Controller, and Rifle VR Controller simultaneously with the same headset. This makes it easier to train with multiple device types without re-pairing controllers between scenarios.

Additional Community Engagement Training modules are now IADLEST-certified

The Crisis De-Escalation and Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Community Engagement Training scenarios have achieved certification from the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) through the National Certification Program. With these additions, six Community Engagement Trainings are now IADLEST-certified.

Casino scenarios in Simulator Training: vRBT

Simulator Training: vRBT expands to support casino security training with a new set of scenarios designed for enterprise security environments. These replayable scenarios focus on verbal engagement, escalation recognition, and use-of-force decision-making in private-property settings, allowing trainees to practice realistic responses to intoxicated patrons, hotel disturbances, and trespass incidents under repeatable conditions. Move and Engage scenario in Simulator Training: Range Skills

In Move and Engage, trainees enhance TASER energy weapon proficiency by moving around obstacles and repositioning to gain more advantageous engagement angles. The exercise reinforces controlled movement, effective positioning, target focus, weapon orientation, and situational awareness throughout the engagement. Trainees practice deployment accuracy and probe spread to achieve neuromuscular incapacitation (NMI). See Simulator Training: Range Skills.

  • Fixed an issue where the After-Action Report in Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance could display incorrect Rifle VR Controller (VRM4R) results.
  • Fixed an issue where distance indicators on practice range walls disappeared when the metric measurement system was selected in Simulator Training.
  • Fixed an issue where the After-Action Report for Simulator Training displayed the completion time in UTC instead of local time on the tablet.
  • Fixed an issue where users could become stuck in the pairing menu after re-pairing a Handgun VR Controller.
  • Fixed an issue where a Handgun VR Controller could fail to display in Simulator Training after being unpaired and paired again.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training where the What to Expect instructions for Moving Targets did not match the localized voice commands in the UK version.
  • Fixed an issue where the Visual Probe Feedback setting appeared in the Handgun Targets exercise in Simulator Training: Range Skills even though the setting is not supported.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: Range Skills where the Weapon Transitions exercise displayed unclear holster instructions when both a TASER VR Controller and Handgun VR Controller were equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where the app version did not appear in the Weapon Settings screen the first time it was opened after launching Simulator Training or exiting a scenario.
  • Fixed an issue where the After-Action Report in Simulator Training: TASER 10 VR Core I could fail to display some probe hit indicators.
  • Fixed an issue where Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance did not identify which trainee ended the scenario after exiting with the headset Exit button.
  • Fixed an issue where Simulator Training: Tactical Clearance sessions could be blocked by content download checks even when the required Tactical Clearance content was already available.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where an inmate in the Refuse to Lockdown scenario could walk toward the trainee instead of returning to their cell after becoming compliant.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the inmate's dialogue could be cut off during the ending sequence of the Inmate Threatening Self-Harm scenario when the trainee kept the TASER device holstered throughout the scenario.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where an inmate in the Inmate Refuses Lockdown scenario could move toward the trainee instead of away after the trainee drew their TASER VR Controller.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where the search bar did not work when adding scenarios to a custom playlist on the tablet.
  • Fixed an issue where some custom Simulator Training: vRBT facilitated scenarios that included a Virtual Officer could fail to launch.
  • Fixed an issue in Simulator Training: vRBT where NMI reaction voice-over did not play for some Corrections subjects after a successful TASER deployment.
  • Fixed an issue where selecting Back on the What to Expect screen or ending an exercise early returned trainees to the wrong screen instead of the library.
  • Fixed an issue where the Cancel button on the What to Expect screen in the Distance exercise in Simulator Training: Range Skills did not appear immediately after the screen loaded.
  • Fixed an issue where the What to Expect video could appear black after selecting Fix Device Pairing without a paired controller.
  • Fixed an issue where the headset did not enable passthrough mode when a user approached the virtual boundary.
