If you’re unfamiliar with Citizen, here’s a brief summary of the product and some resources to get started.
What is it?
Axon Citizen for Officers allows officers to send community members a personalized link via text message. Links can be sent from Axon Evidence, or via the Axon Capture mobile app. This link provides citizens the ability to upload their own digital evidence, like a photo or video they’ve captured with their phone. This data can be reviewed and managed by your agency in the secure Axon Evidence platform.
Citizen for officers: One-On-One Evidence Collection
When you respond to a scene, you should be able to collect photos and videos from witnesses without worrying about the chain of evidence. With Axon Citizen, you can invite witnesses to securely send their media through the Axon Capture mobile application or Evidence.com on your MDT. Once collected, their submissions go straight into Evidence.com and are immediately logged in the audit trail instead of sitting on your camera roll or in your email.
How do I get started?
There are just 5 steps to get started.
- In Axon Evidence, go to the Admin tab and select Citizen Settings
- Complete the form to establish your requirements for evidence submissions
- Go to Admin/Roles and Permissions to configure the user types that you’d like to access Citizen
- Save your changes, and your configuration is complete
- Let your end users know they can access Citizen for Officers through Axon Evidence or via the Axon Capture mobile
