Core platform updates
Embedded Group audit trail
Agency admins can now view a Group’s audit history directly from the Group page, making it easier to review changes without generating and waiting for a separate PDF or CSV report. Available to all customers when released.
Availability: All regions
Parent file relationship in evidence audit trail
The Evidence Audit Trail header now displays the evidence checksum and parent checksum, making it easier to identify derived files and their parent files. Available in the Evidence Audit Trail header upon release.
Availability: All regions
Partner API updates
Changes to search API pagination limits
Starting in July 2026, Axon started a phased rollout enforcing a maximum offset of 10,000 pages for API clients using offset-based pagination. Requests that exceed this limit will receive an error response. To avoid disruption, migrate to cursor-based pagination before this limit takes effect in September — integrations using cursor-based pagination are not affected. For guidance on migrating, see the Axon Partner API Guide.
Availability: All regions
Changes to search API rate limits
As previously announced, Axon finishes a phased rollout in September of per-agency rate limits on the Evidence Search API. Organizations that exceed the limit will receive an HTTP 429 Too Many Requests response with a Retry-After header indicating when to retry. If you have not already done so, update your integrations to handle 429 responses and implement retry logic with backoff - for more information, see the developer documentation. Integrations that make high-volume or bulk search requests should use incremental, filtered queries instead of pulling large evidence collections in a single request. Contact Axon Support if you believe your workflows may be affected.

Axon Evidence
AI Generated Summaries of Images and Documents
You can now identify and review relevant information across more file types with Brief One AI summaries, available for documents and images in addition to video transcripts. When supported file types, like PDFs, Word documents, text files, and common image formats are uploaded to a case, the system generates a concise summary highlighting key facts and details.

Availability: CA1, US1
Attribute Search
Attribute Search uses clothing and accessory descriptions to quickly locate human forms across evidence. It is now available for all AI Era Plan customers, or those who have purchased it as a standalone subscription. Attribute Search is included with Unlimited Smart Detection, and is on by default for users with the Start and View Smart Detection permission enabled.

Availability: US1, US3, US4, CA1, AU1, UK2
Bulk metadata actions support up to 5,000 items
Evidence ID (External ID), Category, Tags, and Custom Metadata bulk actions now support selections of up to 5,000 items.
With the increase in supported selections, bulk actions behaviors are changing to a Synchronous/Asynchronous process. Selections of 500 or fewer complete immediately. Selections for 500+ items will run asynchronously in the background, and you receive a notification when processing completes. As we work to increase our bulk action volumes, the asynchronous model will support future increases and stability.

New Investigate Side Panel in Axon Evidence
Organizations with Axon Investigate and Third-Party Video Support now have a new Investigate side panel. Select evidence you want to play back, then select the Investigate tab to open the Clarifications space, and apply a filter without downloading the file or using a separate application. Stabilization is the first filter available. It smooths shaky video so you can follow the action, identify what's in frame, and present the footage clearly. Clarifications are off by default and require the Clarification permission under Admin > Roles & Permissions> Investigate Cloud.
Availability: All regions
Redesigned document viewer
The document viewer has been redesigned with a new thumbnails and table-of-contents side panel, continuous scrolling with support for mixed-orientation documents, and single/double-page facing layouts with cover pages. Expanded keyboard navigation makes it easier to move through longer documents without leaving the keyboard.
Learn more about Viewing document evidence.
Availability: All regions
Stabilization in Clarifications
Stabilization is the first filter in Clarifications, which requires Axon Investigate with Third-Party Video Support and the Clarification permission allowed. Body-worn camera footage recorded on the move, such as running down an alley, can bounce so much that it is hard to tell what is in front of the camera. Stabilize that video directly in Axon Evidence, without downloading the file or using separate software, so you can follow the action and present the footage clearly. Advanced settings control edge cropping and interpolation, and additional filters — brightness and contrast, crop, rotate, and lens distortion correction — arrive over the coming months.

Video Stitching moves to a side panel
Build a stitch from a side panel instead of Review mode. Select the videos you want, order the clips, and submit. Stitching runs in the background and you receive an email when the new evidence is ready. Stitching requires Axon Investigate with Third-Party Video Support, and your administrator must allow the Stitching permission, which is not allowed by default.

Axon Auto-Tagging
Voice tagging in AI Auto-Tagging (Alpha release)
Voice Tagging is now available as part of an Alpha release. Categorize body-worn camera evidence hands-free, immediately after a recording ends. When a recording stops, your camera prompts you to press and hold the double button to start voice tagging. Speak a category name, and AI Auto-Tagging transcribes it, matches it to your available categories, applies the category to the evidence metadata, and confirms by voice.

Availability: US1, AU1, CA1, UK2
Axon Community Request
Configure custom metadata for requests
Administrators can now choose up to 10 custom metadata fields to appear on the create request page for users to populate during the creation process. This will only be for new requests following this release.
Learn more about Community Request settings.
Availability: All regions
Expanded Victim and Community notification workflows
Improvements to Community Request now support broader Victim and Community notification workflows. Enable sharing of documents, victim resources, and other information. Community-facing portals receive a UI refresh and are secured with one-time passcode (OTP) authentication.
Availability: All regions
Increased file upload limits for Community Request
The maximum number of files that can be submitted per request has increased from 25 to 100. Per-file (60 GB) and per-link (200 GB) size limits will remain unchanged. This change is for all request types except Public Portals.

My90 is moving to Community Surveys
For organizations utilizing My90, we will begin the migration over to the new Community Surveys platform. Your existing surveys and data will move onto the Community Surveys platform so everything lives in one modern tool.
Why Community Surveys
Community Surveys is the next-generation replacement for My90. The new platform is built on Axon Community and is designed to help agencies manage community feedback with less manual effort and more actionable insight. Key capabilities include:
- Self-service survey management and creation — Create, edit, duplicate, and manage surveys without relying on My90 workflows or external tooling.
- Automated reporting — Configure scheduled reports so stakeholders receive updated survey results on a recurring basis.
- Sentiment analysis — Review response sentiment to quickly understand community perception and identify trends in feedback.
- Modern analytics and dashboards — Explore survey response data with interactive reporting designed for day-to-day agency use.
- Integrated Community platform — Built to support upcoming enhancements, planned AI capabilities, and deeper integration with other Community products, including Community Notifications and Community Request.
The Community Surveys experience is updated from My90. You may notice differences in layout, navigation, and how some workflows are organized.
What to expect during migration
- Your organization will be notified when migration starts and when it completes.
- You may experience brief, limited downtime while migration is in progress.
- After migration, sign in to Community Surveys to review your migrated surveys, responses, and settings.
Community Notifications integration
Organizations that purchased My90 or the new Community Link tool also have access to Community Notifications, which supports self-service management of 911 / CAD updates to community members. This self-service management also lets your organization select which calls receive a Community Survey.
For more information, see Community Notifications.
Admin actions after migration
Agency administrators should complete the following after migration:
- Automated reports: Re-establish automated reports in Community Surveys, including how often you receive updated information.
- Interactive dashboards: Interactive dashboards will be automatically created for your organization based on your migrated survey data. Review these dashboards and make adjustments as needed to select your preferred graphics, summary statistics, and other display options to match your organization's preferences. We will continue to expand additional data visualization options in Community Surveys over upcoming releases.
- Public embedded forms: If your agency uses publicly embedded forms, update the form in Advanced settings and copy the new iframe embed code for your website.
For help working with the new tool, see Community Surveys overview.
If you have questions or need support during migration, contact [email protected].

Case Management
Advanced Sharing is available for early access in the UK
Share cases with partner organizations through governed collaborations, so recipients work from current case information instead of one-time downloads or copied cases. Advanced Sharing requires the redesigned Axon Evidence, and an administrator must complete the Advanced Sharing setup and create a default sharing policy before users in your organization see sharing options. While you evaluate Advanced Sharing, Axon recommends enabling the redesigned Axon Evidence and Advanced Sharing in a test organization rather than in your live account.

Availability: UK2
Case identifiers in download link emails and file names
Download link emails and downloaded file names now carry the case identifier, so you can tell which case a download belongs to from your inbox without opening the email, the link, or the package. This makes concurrent downloads easier to tell apart and easier to find again later.
Learn more about Case sharing.
Availability: All regions
Control automatic evidence sharing with partner organizations
Stop new evidence from being shared automatically with a partner organization after the initial share, and send updates manually instead. Your organization decides what reaches a partner and when, matching the manual sync already available in Axon Justice.
Learn more about Advanced sharing.
Availability: US4, US1, US3, CA1
Evidence Certificates in Advanced Sharing policies
Evidence certificates are completed forms that certify the integrity or chain of custody of evidence. Administrators can now include or exclude certificates in a sharing policy, so certificates travel with the evidence to the receiving organization only when the policy allows it.
Learn more about Advanced sharing.
Availability: US4, US3, US1, CA1
Evidence Share Log in Advanced Sharing policies
Administrators can now include the evidence share log in a sharing policy. When the log is included, the receiving organization can view it in both the reference case and their imported copy, so they have the record of who the evidence has already been shared with.
Learn more about Advanced sharing.
Availability: US4, US3, US1, CA1
Include marker reports in download packages
Add marker reports to a case or evidence download package alongside audit trails, transcripts, and the table of contents. Recipients receive the report with the evidence, so disclosure packages that require a marker report for every video no longer need one downloaded and re-uploaded by hand.

Evidence viewing and playback
Play up to 12 videos in Multicam Playback
Review a complex incident from more angles in a single session. The grid resizes automatically as you add and remove videos, so the tiles stay as large as the video count allows.

Third-Party Video playback for records management uploads
CCTV and other third-party footage uploaded through Axon Records now plays in the media player.

View and extract embedded subtitles
Video evidence with an embedded .ass subtitle track displays subtitles during playback, and you can switch between tracks when more than one exists. Extraction can also burn the subtitles into every frame, so the exported file carries them outside Axon Evidence.
Availability: All regions
Zip Preview support for Deflate64
ZIP files compressed with Deflate64 previously failed validation and could not be opened. Some compression tools select Deflate64 automatically for archives larger than 2 GB, so the largest uploads were the most affected.

Redaction
Redaction templates
Reapply a saved set of redactions to one video or a whole batch. Capture the masks, text annotations, and watermarks from a Redaction Studio session and save them as a named template. Templates are useful in cases where sensitive content sits in the same position on every recording, like a dashboard display, a badge number, or a fixed telemetry overlay. They can also stamp an official watermark across every frame. Saving a template requires the Modify permission. Redaction templates will be available at the end of September.

Refreshed Redaction Studio layout and navigation
Redaction Studio now shows the editor and the right panel as two separate panels on a darker background, making the editing workspace easier to distinguish from supporting tools. The right panel uses a vertical icon rail with tab navigation, a title dropdown, and a collapse control, matching the navigation pattern used elsewhere in Axon Evidence. The icon rail replaces the panel toggle that was previously in the utility bar.

Third Party Video Support
Expanded format support and improvements
This release includes expanded format support and improved playback reliability across a wide range of video systems.
Expanded Format Support & Improvements
- Liberty Player (.dcr): Improved handling of multi-channel audio recordings. Files containing multiple audio streams (such as courtroom recordings with separate channels for judge, plaintiff, defendant, and other participants) are now parsed and displayed as individual streams for forensically sound review.
- Clip Player (.exe): Rebuilt with a new parser for improved codec support, audio handling, and playback reliability. Multiple manufacturers use the Clip Player format, and this update provides a more consistent foundation for supporting those files going forward.
- Samsung (.bu): Added new format support.
- Samsara (.swf): Added new format support.
- IDIS: Added new format support, including HEVC (H.265) recordings.
- Motorola Solutions Envysion: Added support for multi-file exports.
- Ocularis (OnSSI / Qognify): Added support for legacy Ocularis exports.
- EverFocus (.avr): Added audio support.
- Bosch (.dxa): Improved multi-stream handling and timestamp parsing.
- Milestone (.blk): Improved audio/video pairing and support for additional audio variants.
- Panasonic: Improved support for .mp4 + .xml package file sets, and added support for multi-file exports covering both .mp4 and .vtt sets.
- Genetec: Improved channel name parsing for more accurate stream identification.
- View Commander: Updated parser for improved compatibility.
Additional Format Support
- DVR interview room recordings (.dvr): Fixed audio playback for interview room video/audio files.
Playback Changes
- Infinity (IMM4 / IMM5): IMM4 and IMM5 recordings now show as unsupported in Axon Evidence, including in Zip Preview, rather than attempting playback. These formats require the manufacturer's codec installed on the local machine to display accurately. Without it, playback is a best-effort approximation and is not forensically sound, so we no longer attempt it. To review this footage, download and install the codec from the Axon Investigate software product page on axon.com, then use Axon Investigate to prepare the files for playback. Your IT department can assist with installation. If you encounter an AVI that does not play, it may use a codec that requires local installation.
If you encounter an unsupported video format, contact [email protected].

Axon Capture
Axon Capture is retiring
Axon Capture will no longer receive updates or support after April 30, 2026, and will be removed from the App Store and Google Play on September 30, 2026. The Axon App now provides full feature parity, including photo, video, and audio capture with metadata tagging and upload to Axon Evidence, and it keeps your existing sign-in credentials, audit trail, media tagging, workflow controls, and organization-level settings and policy enforcement. Migrate to the Axon App before September 30, 2026 to avoid disruption at the cutoff.

TSV file import in the Migration tab
Run larger, better-controlled migrations from the Migration tab. Upload XT validates your organization's custom metadata during TSV file import, so you can find missing required values before the migration starts. A single TSV file can now include both individual files and complete folders, with folder rows scanned recursively, and you can pause, resume, or cancel a running TSV migration. Specify a case folder directly in the TSV file to place evidence in the intended case folder during migration.

Resolved issues
Axon Evidence
- We fixed a bug where the Download and More actions menu did not appear, and the evidence page navigation bar flickered, when opening evidence shared to an agency using a secure share link. Users can now access Download and More actions normally when viewing shared evidence.
- We fixed a bug on the evidence details page where saving External ID, title, category, or tag changes could close edit mode before the save completed, or even when a save failed. This caused users to lose unsaved changes or think their edits were saved when they were not. Edit mode now stays open until all saves succeed, the Save button shows a loading indicator while saving, and failed saves are surfaced so users can retry.
Coming soon
This section provides advanced notice about upcoming features.
Axon Evidence
Bulk actions for Title, Content Warning, and Evidence Groups
Bulk actions in Axon Evidence will soon expand to cover Title, Content Warning, and Evidence Groups, so more metadata can be updated across a larger selection of evidence from the evidence search page.
Vehicle name column
Identify the vehicle a recording came from by its assigned name, using the same vehicle names your organization already uses. The Vehicle name column is hidden by default — turn it on from table settings (gear button) on the evidence search page. Once enabled, Vehicle name is also included in search result exports.
