One Giant Leap: We’re hiring these 5 career fields to help us reach our moonshot goal

In 1962, President Kennedy visited the NASA space center. He noticed a janitor working and famously asked: “What do you do here?” The janitor replied, “Well, Mr. President, I’m helping put a man on the moon.”
50 years later, Axon is embarking on our own moonshot mission. Our mission will not be measured by miles traveled, but by lives saved.
In 2021 in the U.S., 1,118 people —1,054 civilians and 64 officers — lost their lives in gun-related incidents between police and the public, according to leading data sources. Axon is rallying partners around a moonshot goal to cut gun-related deaths between police and the public by 50% in 10 years.
But how will we get there? Great talent is a key component to making our moonshot a reality. Here are five career fields where we’re hiring right now to help us reach out moonshot goal.
Software Engineering
Axon is the market leader in cloud-powered, integrated software and hardware for public safety, including software to optimize digital evidence management and workflows, real time operations for faster officer response times, and tools that improve productivity and increase community engagement. Software engineers shape the architectural and technical design for the entire Axon ecosystem, and we are currently hiring across all levels — from staff software engineers and senior front-end and back-end engineers to senior research scientists and embedded software engineers. We offer the opportunity to grow alongside a team of talented software and firmware engineers to create the next generation of connected public safety products such as in-car cameras and wireless microphones that seamlessly integrate with state-of-the-art web and mobile applications.
Our research and development team members often join Axon to find a career with purpose. “I wanted to help make products that helped people and to make a difference in people’s lives,” recalled Uriel Ornelas, Industrial Designer.
Operations and Manufacturing
From manufacturing engineers to supply chain program managers, we require a strong core team to manufacture and deliver life-saving devices and sensors to our global public safety customers.
Our operations and manufacturing team members come from all walks of life. Many are retired law enforcement or military who find a common culture of service in our public safety mission at Axon.
“I spent 15 years in law enforcement and had personally used Axon’s equipment,” explained Pierre Owens, Security Supervisor. “I knew I wanted to transition my career and was looking for a place to call home. I found this role on Indeed and learned a lot more about Axon in the interview process. I’m excited to be a part of this team.”
Sales
Sales and customer service professionals work closely with cross-functional teams to address customer needs or challenges. Our customer-facing teams work closely with public safety stakeholders across local and state law enforcement, fire and EMS, campus, federal and enterprise pillars to build and maintain successful partnerships. We are majorly scaling our domestic and international sales teams, and have more than 100 open sales positions, ranging from inside sales and account executives to strategic and international roles.

Finance
Axon finance and accounting professionals like vendor specialists, consolidation accountants and other analysts partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate fulfillment and invoicing to our customers — an essential part of doing business and critical to our ability to meet our goals. At Axon, our goal is to make each individual feel valued for his or her contributions to the company’s mission, to protect life and truth.
Marketing and Communications
As we build a coalition of our own team members, leaders of the law enforcement profession, community organizations, technology companies, experts in policy and more to achieve our Moonshot goal, we need individuals to share the Axon story. We’re always seeking exceptional marketing and global communications talent to help us share Axon’s mission with the world.
